Introduced in 1964, the Ferrari 330 GT 2+2 succeeded the 250 GTE. Designed by Pininfarina, this elegant four-seater stood out for its elongated lines, refined interior and powerful 4.0-litre V12 engine developing 300 hp.
The Series 1, recognisable by its twin headlights, was replaced in 1965 by the Series 2, which featured a sleeker front end. Italso received a new 5-speed gearbox, improved handling and a modernised dashboard. With only 455 units produced out ofa total of 1,080, the Series 2 is rarer.
Our superb example was sold by Garage Francorchamps in Brussels in 1966, featuring elegant Oro Chiaro bodywork combined with a Nera Franzi leather interior. It can be traced back to the early 1980s in the United States, where it had several successive owners. Its current owner purchased it in 2015 and re-imported the car to Europe. In 2016, it was sent to specialist Red Cars in Maranello for a complete restoration. This will be completed in 2021 after SGRacing has finalised the last details.
Nothing was left to chance: the bodywork was completely stripped down, the mechanical components were completely rebuilt and the interior was fully restored. More than €300,000 was invested to achieve this exceptional result.
Restored in accordance with its factory specifications, it is still equipped with its original engine and gearbox. As a guaranteeof quality, it will receive Ferrari Classiche certification on 21 April 2021. Having covered less than 900 km since the endof its restoration, it is now in concours condition. Offered at a very attractive estimate given the amount invested, it represents a unique opportunity for the most discerning Ferrari collectors.
