Introduced at the 1969 Frankfurt International Motor Show, the Ferrari Daytona Spyder represented the pinnacle of Maranello’s grand touring philosophy. Built in exceptionally limited numbers, it quickly became one of the most coveted Ferraris of its era. Today, these rare open-top V12s occupy pride of place in the world’s most significant collections, combining breathtaking performance with elegant open-air motoring. As the final and most refined evolution of Ferrari’s legendary front-engined V12 grand tourers, the 365 GTS/4 remains an enduring symbol of the marque’s golden age, standing among the most desirable open Ferraris ever produced.

The Daytona Spyder’s looks were so striking that it was used in a variety of Hollywood and TV productions, including Miami Vice, The Gumball Rally, The Long Goodbye & Suits. It is no surprise that it became a true ‘poster car’ from its era.

About our car:

This exceptionally rare Daytona Spyder has spent the better part of the last 30 years out of public view, preserving the exclusivity and mystique of this early example.

Presented in elegant Nero over a rich Tan leather interior and fully matching numbers. It retains its matching-numbers 4.4L V12 engine and original 5-speed manual transaxle. With only three owners from new, the car is accompanied by its very rare factory warranty card, original owner’s manuals in a Ferrari leather case, Marcel Massini report and comprehensive ownership and service records.

Further enhancing its provenance, a copy of the original invoice from Modern Classic Motors of Reno, Nevada, to its first owner is included, validating this beautifully documented and highly original Daytona Spyder of the utmost pedigree.

A fantastic opportunity for the seasoned collector to add value at any chosen point in time, by bringing this Spyder back to its original glory in Giallo Dino. A colour so elegant and suitable for this era and shape of Ferrari, it should only be a matter of time until this Spyder gets added to a world-class collection. Because every great sports car collection should include one of the most iconic supercars of the 1970s.
